Biogas, 300 m3 digester
The Millennium Biogas Company (MBC) proposed to pioneer the industrialization and commercialization of biogas production in Uganda. The company’s plan was to build and operate one 300 m3 pilot biogas bottling plant, to test and refine the technology and fully characterize the factors that govern the process of producing biogas from organic matter, purifying the biogas, bottling it and using it for identified applications. In the course of developing “Sustainable Renewable Energy business in Uganda project” Millennium Biogas Company (MBC) was incorporated in Uganda. MBC conducted a feasibility study which contributed to the business plan development. The company received various trainings in: Business Enterprise Start-up Tool training, presentation skills, Cost of capital, Internal Rate of Return & NPV, branding development and marketing training with other entrepreneurs in the incubator. MBC completed their business plan and received investment support from the Renewable Energy Incubator to do a 20m3 biogas plant as a pilot to electrify a town in Ssi village, Buikwe District.
