Fredskorpset is a Norwegian Government agency (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) working to promote international understanding and mutual learning through institutional cooperation and exchange of people 18-35 years, between Norway and countries in the South (Africa, Asia and Latin America). Institutions can be public, voluntary or private, and the participants may belong to a wide range of professions. FK Norway gives young people in Norway and developing countries the opportunity to experience each other’s reality.
About the Exchange program
The South-South human resource exchange programme involves two partners; Renewable Energy Business Incubator (Makerere University, Uganda and Husk Power Systems Private Limited, India. Two participants are exchanged for a period of 13 months; (a Ugandan and an Indian). The current programme is 3 years (21st October 2012- 30th November 2015). To date 6 staff have been exchanged between the two partner countries.
The objective of the program is to strengthen the capacity needed for sustainable business development in rural biomass gasification systems in Uganda and Tanzania.
