Majority of rural households in Uganda do not have access to electricity. Biomass gasification plants are a suitable solution to light up and power off-grid rural communities. Through the programme, the Renewable Energy Business Incubator has built capacity of partners to operate and maintain biomass gasifiers. Currently 203 households are accessing electricity from two (2) installed biomass gasifiers. Given the developed capacity, REBI will continue to support development of sustainable biomass gasification businesses.
